THE 12 BEST NES GAMES – GAMES FOR NES CONSOLE

Introduction

NES – Nintendo Entertainment System games are those games which are available on NES Console. NES consoles is 8 – bit home video game console. This console played a very great role for booming a gaming industry.

Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia

A classic platformer about a boy and his snowman blob who together try to save the planet Blobolonia from an evil dictator. Combines platformer and puzzle gameplay. The blob has different properties that help in passing. To activate them, various particles are used, which are scattered on each level. With their help, you can make a ladder, a parachute and much more from the blob. The best nostalgic game on NES.

Adventure Island II

The first part of this platformer was not particularly original. The second one became more diverse in terms of gameplay, but basically, everything remained in its place – playing as a pink-cheeked fat man, you fight bad guys to save your girlfriend. Along the way, you ride dinosaurs with different abilities and eat huge amounts of fruit.

Batman: The Video Game

A worthy embodiment of the Batman story, published based on the 1989 film. Gotham is overflowing with all sorts of scum and the Dark Knight has to go out into the streets of the city and clean them up. Batman copes well with enemies in hand-to-hand combat, but he also has a special weapon with a limited supply – a pistol, disks and boomerangs. And the Bat-Man can climb up, clinging to walls, like the hero of Ninja Gaiden, Ryu. The game is distinguished by its high complexity, not inferior to the above-mentioned Ninja Gaiden.

Battletoads

Classic, just classic! One of the most graphically perfect games on the platform, combining, in addition to arcade gameplay, also high-speed motorcycle racing, flights and much more. The toad-fighter Rush, for whom you play, saves his friend Pimple and his girlfriend Princess Angelica according to the plot. The difficulty, of course, is off the charts and cooperative passage does not really save the situation.

Bionic Commando

One of the first platformers to break away from the tried and true run and jump formula. Oddly enough, there is no jumping in the game – instead, you will move around the level using a biomechanical hand – a device that allows you to cling to platforms and swing to move. The game also has various types of weapons to deal with enemies.

Blaster Master

A stunning platformer with elements of a top-down shooter. According to the plot, following his frog Fred, the main character looked into a hole in the backyard and ended up in an underground labyrinth teeming with radioactive mutants. Fortunately, he manages to find an armored all-terrain vehicle SOPHIA, which can be used to move relatively safely, since it is equipped with a powerful blaster (you drive it through the main locations). The game has very difficult bosses, which you will fight in pilot mode, but after defeating them, you will receive upgrades for the all-terrain vehicle.

Bubble Bobble

A platformer with puzzle elements and a representative of simple but deadly addictive games. Two dragons Bub and Bob deal with various monsters by putting them in bubbles. You can play together to make traveling through the intricate labyrinths more fun, although you are unlikely to get bored alone.

Castlevania

A masterpiece saga about the vampire hunter Simon Belmont, who wields a whip no worse than Indiana Jones. However, you will have to fight not with the Nazis, but with Dracula himself and his offspring. In addition to the whip, you will have various additional weapons: axes, boomerangs, knives, holy water – each with its own features. Despite the fact that Castlevania was released at the dawn of the NES era, it pleases with an atmospheric soundtrack and excellent graphics. You will enjoy them to your heart’s content, since the game is quite difficult to complete.

Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest

After the success of the first part, the developers have somewhat moved away from the usual concept of a side-scroller and Simon Quest is already more like an RPG. Belmont travels around the outskirts of Transylvania, collecting Dracula’s particles needed to lift the curse. The game has an inventory, various items, an upgrade system and even a change of day and night. The ending, of which there are several in the game, depends on your actions, and in particular, the time spent on passing. Only by doing everything correctly can you get the best of them.

Contra

A great, timeless shooter for all times. This is what many associate with the Dandy. The 80s were an era when games exploited the movie cliches of muscular tough guys with big guns. In Contra, we play as two such guys fighting the terrorist organization “Red Falcon”. You have a bunch of weapons at your disposal, with which you will have to storm levels and bosses filled with numerous enemies.

Crystalis

An excellent RPG, in many ways similar to the Legend of Zelda in mechanics and gameplay, but different in details. Against the background of other, more famous, RPGs from the NES, Crystalis stands out with a well-developed plot, twisted around a crazy fusion of science fiction and fantasy. Later, Nintendo bought the original rights to the game from SNK and ported it to the Game Boy Color 10 years later.

Double Dragon II: The Revenge

When the first part of Double Dragon was ported to NES, the developers missed one very important detail, necessary as air for successful beat’em up games – cooperative mode of passage. In the second part this shortcoming was corrected and it became another masterpiece of the classic era of video games. Billy and Jimmy Lee, twin dragons take revenge on members of a criminal group for the death of Billy’s beloved. In the second part new super blows were added, but the difficulty also became higher – new types of enemies were added. Between levels you will find story inserts, and after the final boss beautiful credits.
