Introduction
PlayStation is very popular brand or company for games. Last Time, We discussed about Every PlayStation Console and their history of release dates. That was a Part 1. Here is the Part 2 for PlayStation Consoles with their release dates.
PlayStation Vita – February 22, 2012
The PlayStation Vita was Sony’s first new entry into the portable gaming market in nearly seven years. The key moment for many was the ability to play hundreds of incredible games on both PS3 and Vita. At the time of its release, it was the most advanced portable system on the market, with dozens of features that no other developer offered. Later, Remote Play was added for the PlayStation 4, allowing players to stream PS4 games to the Vita from anywhere in their home.
Play Station 3 Super Slim – September 25, 2012
The PlayStation 3 Super Slim was the last version of the PlayStation 3. Released just a year before the PS4, the PS3 Super Slim featured a maximum loading Blu-ray drive, better power efficiency and an even slimmer design. In retrospect, the PlayStation 3 Super Slim proved to be the most durable of all Sony consoles, thanks in large part to its disc drive design and thinner body.
PlayStation 4 – November 15, 2013
The PlayStation 4 offered internal processors that were more than five times faster than the PS3, allowing for a huge leap in the visual quality of games. PS4 has released such incredible games as Uncharted 4, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima and many others. Another quality feature of the PlayStation 4 was the addition of a removable hard drive, which allowed players to swap hard drives to increase the amount of memory. The DualShock 4 controller is also a big step up from the DualShock 3, offering a more ergonomic design that promotes comfort during long gaming sessions.
PlayStation 4 Slim – September 15, 2016
In short, the PlayStation 4 Slim was simply a scaled-down and improved version of the PlayStation 4. The PS4 Slim was much more power-efficient than its predecessor, allowing for smaller internal components in a smaller form factor. Although there was no difference in performance between this console and the standard PS4, the smaller design and quieter cooling system became a huge advantage for many.
PlayStation 4 Pro – November 10, 2016
The PlayStation 4 Pro was a monumental step forward from the standard PlayStation 4. This console was Sony’s first step into 4K support, where high-end technology was used to produce 4K images. Coupled with HDR support, the PS4 Pro finally allowed gamers to take advantage of their 4K displays. With twice the GPU power of the PS4, this console was able to deliver higher frame rates for many games.
PlayStation 5 – November 12, 2020
The PlayStation 5 is the most powerful PlayStation console to date, with support for ray tracing, 120fps, stable 4K output, and more. It’s certainly the biggest PlayStation ever released, although it weighs slightly less than the PlayStation 3. Along with the console comes the PlayStation Dual Sense Controller with a host of new features including adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and a USB charging port -C.
PlayStation 5 Slim – November 10, 2023
The PlayStation 5 Slim brought new changes to the PlayStation 5 without dramatically changing any of the hardware inside. First, the console is much smaller than the original PlayStation 5, which is a bulky console that can be problematic for shelving. The main change in the PS5 Slim is the modular design, which allows you to buy a console without a disc drive, and then buy it separately.
Upcoming PlayStation consoles
While the PS5 Slim was only released last year, we’re already expecting the PS5 Pro to launch at some point during the 2024 holiday season. As for the next generation of PlayStation consoles, there is no exact date when we can expect them. According to some assumptions, the PS6 will be released sometime between 2026 and 2030.
