5 MOST DIFFICULT VIDEO GAMES THAT CHALLENGE GAMERS

Introduction

There are many kind of video games but difficult video games are more challenging and interesting for gamers. The person who plays easy video games is not a gamer. The real gamer is the one who plays difficult video games. Here are 5 most difficult video games for those who wants to be a real gamer.

1. Dark Souls

Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows.

The Souls series from Japanese company From Software has become famous for its difficulty. Are you used to modern AAA blockbusters explaining the rules, allowing you to change difficulty settings and save at any time? In Dark Souls, everything is different.

Here, even the most basic enemies can kill you in one or two hits, and you can only save at bonfires. As a result, you will be rushing around in search of them, while hordes of ferocious undead and stern warriors in heavy armor are pursuing you.

However, Dark Souls is not only about ruthless combat where you have no room for error. There are magnificent landscapes and amazing places where you will visit: the dark and majestic castle of Lothric, the cold and beautiful Irithiil and the sun-drenched Anor Londo.

If you are new to the world of Dark Souls, start playing with the third part. It is the most beautiful, and the controls are simpler (but only in comparison with the first two).

2. Bloodborne

Platforms: PlayStation 4.

The successor and continuer of the Souls series by the same developer. Bloodborne’s mechanics are reminiscent of Dark Souls, but there are also significant differences: the pace here is much higher. You find yourself drawn into a furious and aggressive fight with crowds of opponents, in which you have no opportunity to retreat. No shield, no heavy armor – your Hunter has only a melee weapon, a practically useless musket, good only for parrying enemy attacks, a coat and a triangular hat.

The creators of Bloodborne were clearly inspired by the film Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman: a hunter exterminating monsters in a dying city, the theme of vampirism, the general setting and appearance of the main character. The dynamism of the action is off the charts, the imagination of the developers who created the monsters knows no bounds, and the level design is truly delightful.

Bloodborne is a compelling reason to buy a PlayStation 4, even if you’re not a console fan.

3. Demon’s Souls

Video Games

Platforms: PlayStation 3.

This game is the ancestor of Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Despite its considerable age, Demon’s Souls still looks interesting and exciting. We try on the role of a nameless warrior who must free a distant kingdom hidden in fog from evil demons and an obsessed ruler.

Many players will say that Demon’s Souls is harder than the subsequent Souls games. There are only two save points on each level, healing is limited (restoring Estus at a campfire has not yet been invented), enemies are strong and respawn after each death.

Demon’s Souls remains one of the most exciting games on PlayStation 3. Dark medieval, dragons, evil undead and huge dangerous demons will appeal to fans of dark fantasy. If you tried Dark Souls and Bloodborne, got into the spirit of these games and want to see where it all began – Demon’s Souls is waiting for you.

4. Cuphead

Platforms: Xbox One, Windows, macOS.

One of the monstrously difficult games. A hybrid of run and gun and platformer with cute hand-drawn graphics in the style of old Disney cartoons.

Here you have to control two cup-headed brothers who lost in a casino to the devil himself and are now forced to knock out debts from other such poor fellows. However, the latter do not intend to part with their souls, so it will not be easy for the brothers to complete the mission.

Cuphead is mostly about boss fights. They are such that you will need very fast reactions, a solid keyboard and a lot of patience to cope with them. And, of course, a fair amount of luck, because often the enemies attack in a completely unpredictable order. You can’t make mistakes or hesitate, otherwise you will have to start the fight over again.

5. Don’t Starve

Platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Playstation Vita, Xbox One, iOS, Android.

A very interesting sandbox survival game. You must survive as long as possible in a harsh drawn world where you were sent by a cynical and sarcastic demon named Maxwell. And here literally everything is trying to kill you.

Your first enemy is hunger. You can pick berries, but there are never enough of them. And during the hunt, the prey constantly escapes. There is not enough food and firewood, and winter is coming.

Setting up a camp, getting and cooking food, sewing clothes and keeping a fire going – everything needs to be done simultaneously. Autumn gives way to a cold winter that not everyone can survive, winter – to a wet spring, and that, in turn, to a scorching summer. Surviving all the misfortunes, your character gradually goes crazy, and madness along with imaginary monsters can finish him off just like natural disasters.

After all, in the darkness, cruel Charlie awaits you, and you can only drive her away with fire. And nothing will help if you don’t have a torch with you at the critical moment.
