6 PUZZLE GAMES FOR PC : BEST PUZZLE GAMES (PART 2)

Introduction

Puzzle Games are very entertaining. These games capture a man for a long time. Previously, we talked about these games in first part. But There are more recommendations for you.

7. Unravel

Publisher: Electronic Arts.
Year: 2016.
Platforms: Windows, macOS.

In recent years, good puzzles have rarely come out – yet masterpieces in this genre appeared more often when computers were weaker. But Unravel is a happy exception. There are such graphics here that you want to touch the objects on the screen, move into this magical world and travel through it together with Yarny.

Yarny is a funny little kitten or an imp made of red thread. With its help, you have to unravel the plot. Actually, Unravel is translated as “unravel,” and sometimes you will have to unravel the character’s body in order to solve puzzles and get to the next level. But – spoiler! – use the thread sparingly so that it lasts until the end.

One of Yarny’s most interesting abilities is finding memories. They preserve the character’s emotions : joy, sadness, shame, grief. Overall, Unravel is a game about overcoming adversity and about connections that have been broken. It makes you think about what is really important and dear to each of us.

In 2018, the second part of Unravel was released. But, according to critics and gaming portals, the first one is still more interesting .

8. Botanicula

Publisher: Amanita Design.
Year: 2012.
Platforms: Windows, macOS.

A new look at natural history and the importance of every bug and leaf for our world. The plot centers on tiny creatures that live on a tree eaten by parasites and strive to save its last seed. This is the only way their world can survive.

The game is made with great love, attracts with unusual graphics and a touching plot. You initially understand that all five characters will be forced to leave the tree – but they will achieve their goal only if they can act together.

Each hero has his own unique abilities: for example, the Physalis Flashlight illuminates dark locations, the Poppy Box can carry loads, and the Feather can fly. This will help them (and you!) solve puzzles and save the world.

9. The Talos Principle

PUZZLE GAMES

Publisher: Devolver Digital.
Year: 2014.
Platforms: Windows, macOS.

The first-person philosophical puzzle was developed by the company that gave the world the legendary Serious Sam. But in this universe, fortunately, there is no shooting and crazy screams.

According to legend, Talos is a bronze knight who guards the island of Crete. The Talos Principle states that whatever a philosopher’s beliefs may be, his life will always be based on his physical being.

The protagonist of the game, the Child, is an inquisitive robot with the beginnings of artificial intelligence. It implements the Talos principle: the computer mind is based on a metal body and electronic “stuffing”.

The hero will explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, look for puzzles and solve them. He will have to get out of labyrinths, find important objects, evade drones and turrets or deactivate them.

During the search, you will be able to find terminals that will open new fragments of the map. With each level the character will become smarter, and the riddles will become more interesting.

10. The Witness

Publisher: Thekla.
Year: 2016.
Platforms: Windows, macOS.

Jonathan Blow announced this game right after the release of Braid in 2008, but it took him eight long years to develop. The result was worth it: the puzzles here only seem simple, there are minimal hints, and the graphics are quite unusual.

The game mechanics are based on labyrinths. You will need to draw lines to get out of the trap, separate some objects from others, and look for the only true path.

There are more than 650 puzzles in the game, but you don’t have to solve all of them to win—about half is enough. There is also a single riddle of super-hard difficulty. According to Blow, it can be solved by one player in a hundred. Go for it!

11. The Room Three

Publisher: Fireproof Games.
Year: 2018.
Platforms: Windows, macOS.

A beautiful mystical puzzle quest in which you will find yourself in a gloomy old estate. By exploring room by room, you will be able to find all the keys you need to open the doors and move towards the exit.

In general, The Room is a whole series of puzzles united by a common concept: open doors and get into new rooms. But in the third part the developers outdid themselves. They created a full-fledged plot, added hundreds of puzzles, and wrote several ending options.

In the new part, riddles are solved not only within one room. You will be able to move from one location to another and even find objects in other dimensions using a magic eyepiece.

12. The Turing Test

Publisher: Square Enix.
Year: 2016.
Platforms: Windows.

The Turing test is a concept that allows an artificial intelligence to be considered intelligent if an expert cannot distinguish it from a living person. But in this game, on the contrary, they are testing a living person – Ava Turing. Thus, the name of the game is translated not as “Turing Test”, but as “Test for Turing”.

Eva is an engineer for the International Space Agency. She was in cryogenic sleep at a research station orbiting Europa, a moon of Jupiter. The station team did not contact for a long time, and the control system woke up Eva. The girl had to go down to Europa and find out what was happening.

Arriving at the research complex, Eva is faced with many puzzles. You can solve them by controlling energy balls. At the same time, you cannot die in the game – you can only stall at a certain point.
